What is a modem?

A modem is a device that converts data from a digital format into a format suitable for an analog transmission medium such as telephone or radio. For alarms, we use a cellular modem connected to a network with a SIM card. When sending a message, the modem recieves a pre-composed text from Ozeki Alarm Service, which it forwards to the Service Provider, who will send it to the recipient you specified.
